Requirements

What requirements do you have in order for my pet to participate in your services?

We require a Pet Services Agreement and vaccinations for all pets to participate in any of our services.

Boarding

What should I bring when my pet stays at Wagsworth Manor?

At Wagsworth Manor Pet Resort, we provide your pet with everything they will need. However if you wish to bring the following you may:

  • Food – We recommend keeping first time guests, pets with food allergies, and puppies on their familiar diet from home. We require that you individually bag each meal.

*NutriSource® Adult Chicken & Rice food in both dry and wet formulas and Milk Bones are served at no extra charge.

  • Treats – We strongly suggest bringing your own treats if your pet has any allergies.
  • Harness – Please let us know if your dog should only be on a harness due to health reasons.
  • Safe toy – Two toys per pet are allowed. If your pet is known to ingest things, please do not bring items that they could eat.
  • Scent Item – A t-shirt or small tea towel with your scent on it can be soothing for your pet’s stay away from home.
  • Coat/Jacket/Sweater – We try to have the dogs outside, weather permitting, as much as possible.

Please Note: We will make every effort to return these items, however they may not be returned or they may be returned in poor condition. Please be aware that you are assuming this risk when you leave belongings with your pet.

Do I have to bring my pets food?

NutriSource® Adult Chicken & Rice food and Milk Bones are served at no extra charge. However, if your dog has a sensitive stomach, abruptly changing their diet can cause gastrointestinal distress such as diarrhea and vomiting. We recommend keeping them on their familiar diet from home, especially for first time guests, pets with food allergies, and for puppies. We require that you individually bag each meal.

What not to bring?

  • Rawhides
  • Greenies
  • Pig Ears
  • Toys that may become a choking hazard
  • Bedding (unless staying in The Silo)  If you choose to bring your own bedding, which includes any bedding bigger than 8 x 10 inches, there will be an $8 per day laundering fee.

What about medications?

  • Medication – (administration charges apply) – Any medication should be brought in its original container with the instructions on the bottle. If you have a medication where the instructions have changed, please make sure to update this on the bottle as well. Please do not put medications in food bags or in pill pockets.

Which Vaccinations are Required?

Dogs: Rabies Certificate, Distemper, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza. Some sort of flea and tick preventative is also recommended.

Cats: FVCRP and Rabies. Some sort of flea and tick preventative is also recommended.

We highly suggest that any vaccinations be done two weeks in advance so they are effective.

For Dogs only: We recommend getting a Pennsylvania Dog License. The dog warden randomly checks our facility and will fine the owner (up to $300 plus court costs) if their dog does not have a current Pennsylvania Dog License.

What is your policy regarding pets recently added to your family?

For pets that have recently been added to your family, we require a 30-day waiting period before they are permitted to come to Wagsworth Manor for boarding, day camp, or any of our other services. This is a precautionary measure to ensure that a pet is free of any communicable illnesses that may have been contracted before you acquired them. This also allows you to form a bond with your new family member and be able to give us more information about their personality.
