Board-n-Trains and Camp-n-Trains:
Whether your canine companion is spending the night with us or is just here for daycare, our trainers work one-on-one with your dog to lay an important foundation for obedience. We will make sure your dog is taught basic obedience and commands such as sit, stay, down, and our personal favorite… “leave it.” We will also work on behavioral solutions such as jumping, inappropriate chewing, leash reactivity, nipping, and mouthing. We offer sessions in daily half or full sessions with customized training plans.
Enrichment Sessions:
Have a high-energy dog who likes puzzles, enjoys learning new tasks, or benefits from extra mental stimulation? Our Enrichment Sessions are a great add-on service for our Daycamp Program. Activities include training walks, treat puzzles, agility, nose work, and more. These sessions are an excellent way to entertain dogs with limited physical abilities as well as brainiac dogs.
Puppy Preschool:
Start your puppy on the right track to becoming a well-behaved family member with our Puppy Pre-School Program, an all-inclusive basic training and socialization program tailored to each puppy's unique personality and learning style. Some of the important skills taught during preschool are potty training, crate training, basic obedience, socialization skills, and addressing common puppy behaviors such as nipping, mouthing, jumping, and chewing. Let’s protect that new sofa while we still can!
Private Lessons:
For those pawrents who prefer a private lesson. Work with a trainer on a specialized behavior without your dog getting distracted by the rest of the class. Schedule a private coaching session focusing on obedience, problem solving, or behavior modification and learn how to get your dog on the road to success.
Group Dog Training Classes
In addition to our classic dog training sessions, we are also pleased to offer group training classes taught by our very talented and experienced training staff. Our group training classes are designed for FUN, first and foremost. Whether you are looking to start your puppy off right or teach your old dog new tricks (and trust us, it can be done!), our weekday, evening, and weekend classes will help your dog learn the basics, or can help fine-tune some more advanced skills. With the help of our trainers, you can have that well-behaved companion you have always dreamed of and in the process, strengthen the bond you currently have. Here’s a look at some of our group classes currently available.
S.T.A.R. Puppy Class
Perfect for pups who are 10 weeks to 7 months old, this early training and socialization program for puppies and their parents helps to establish some good habits and healthy relationships right out of the gate. In this 6-week class, we will help cultivate basic manners and help your puppy achieve an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy certification and ribbon upon graduation. We will also address how to handle some of those more common puppy behaviors such as crate training, proper greetings, and mouthing.
Good Manners I
Perfect for dogs over 6 months old who have already graduated puppy preschool or an equivalent course. This group training class will help lay the foundation for a well-mannered dog, and includes all the basic cues needed to make your dog the talk of the town! We will cover the basic cues (sit, down, stay), while also working on refining behaviors from both verbal and hand cues/gestures. We will also cover recall, walking on a leash, jumping, “leave it”, “drop it”, and an introduction to “settle”.
Good Manners II
Perfect for dogs over 6 months old who have already completed Good Manners I or an equivalent course. This group training class is a great continuation of training for a more reliable and focused dog. This series includes the basic cues, recall, walking nicely on a leash, walking through a crowd, passing other dogs, handling, jumping, calm even with distraction, and a 3 minute separation training with supervision.
Intro to Agility
Perfect for dogs over 1 year old who have already completed Good Manners I or an equivalent course. Agility isn’t just about your dog learning how to navigate obstacles, it’s also about refining communication and teaching your dog that paying attention to you is the real gateway to fun! As part of this series your dog will learn training skills such as hand and object targeting, shaping, back chaining, body cues, refining basic behaviors, body awareness, obstacle skills, and more.
Intro to Scent Work
Unleash your dog's sense of adventure with our Scent Work Class that takes you step by step to birch detection! Our comprehensive program is designed to nurture your dog's innate scenting abilities, starting from the basics and working all the way up to birch detection. Our experienced trainers will guide you and your furry friend through each stage, building confidence and skill along the way. Whether you're planning to compete or simply want to engage your dog's senses, our class is perfect for all levels. As part of this series your dog will work towards building your dogs desire to hunt for a scent, prompting your dog to search for a treat or an essential oil scent, and show your dog how you would like them to indicate the presence of the treat or scent, whether that be a bark, a sit, eye contact, placing their paw on top of the item, or another action.
